Liobate made its debut at the 23rd China International Optoelectronic Expo from September 16-18, 2021, and became one of the hot spots in the whole event. At the conference, Liobate showcased and shared its technologies and products, such as TFLN modulator chips, 400G optical devices, device packaging, etc., which gained wide attention.
TFLN intensity modulator: TFLN electro-optic modulators offer low half-wave voltage, large modulation bandwidth, small size, low optical loss, high linearity, and high extinction ratio with bandwidths exceeding 100 GHz while providing low Vπ.
The company demonstrated the TFLN optical intensity modulator at the exhibition and demonstrated real-time modulated optical waveform testing on-site. The device is based on the excellent physical properties of lithium niobate material. It achieves strong optical confinement by dry etching of ridge waveguides on sub-micron thickness lithium niobate films, thus significantly improving modulation efficiency and achieving low modulation voltage and low power consumption operation.
